It’s that time of year again when we all like to go to the park or the lake and barbeque with friends, play games with the people we love and show how much we love our country in celebration. In this article I am going to show you a few summer nail designs with red, white, and blue fingernails, that you love but might have thought you didn’t have the time for.

Just a couple water marbling pictures with two different blues for the red, white and blue.       The left has a few fireworks and the right also has a “rebel flag”.

The “Stars and Bars”  flag     was adopted March 4, 1861, in the first temporary national capital of Montgomery, Alabama, and raised over the dome of that first Confederate capitol.

Water marble

If you haven’t gone through this process before CLICK HERE for the DIY article. This process was done for all of the fingernails in the first/left picture and three of the fingernails on the second/right picture with different blues.

The following are the red, white and blue colors that I used in the second/right picture.

Decals

A couple of these decals or stickers were placed on every fingernail on the first/left picture and the second/right picture used striping tape. This is a very small yet colorful tape that is used specifically for your nails.

The bold red, white and blue is done in stages. First you polish the red. You don’t have to polish the entire nail, just enough to cover the top third of it. You don’t have to be perfect with the line across your nail because you are going to be covering it with tape. Make sure it is dry before you do the white so the colors don’t mix. Then repeat for the blue.

When you are ready to put the lines of tape on your nails I would suggest that you measure them across your nail first before you cut. Once you cut the tape it gets difficult to handle so you want to have the perfect size before you place it on your nails. I also matched the colors, red for the top line and blue for the bottom. Although, you could use white for both.

For some reason the Fourth of July decals are hard to find so I am giving you some summer ones too.

Stars and Bars

Start this one with a good red over your whole fingernail. Polish your thin lines of blue making an X on your nail. You will need four pieces of your tape in white. Place one at a time making sure that you are separating the red from the blue polish, giving you a defining line and enough space of blue polish to place your stars. Take your blue polish and polish the intersections to cover the tape, giving you a complete X of blue surrounded by the white. Place one star of white polish at the intersection and three stars on each side of each stripe.

Traditional

Here are a couple of American Flags.

With these two I have just a hand polished American Flag and a hand polished stars and taped stripes. Both are easy and look beautiful when displayed on your fingernails.

I hope that this will help you enjoy your independence with family, friends and FLARE. As always here is to beautiful nails. Happy Independence Day everyone and Blessed Be. Kari

I really enjoyed your post and the amazing nail ideas for the 4th of July.  I think your designs are very cool.  I am not sure I have the patience to do my own nails like that.  How long does it normally take to do the marbling?  That is the one that I like the very best!

      Hello Alisha

Thank you for your kind words. It does not take that long after your first attempt. LOL It only takes between 1/2 hour to an hour. This depends on how many colors you use and how much of a perfectionist you are. Blessed Be Kari
