Nothing Fancy

Some of us get so busy that we just don’t have the time to get our nails done or even have the time to do them ourselves. So this is going to be a quick post on how to keep your nails nice looking without to much trouble or wasted time.

You are going to want to start with the basics. Using some lotion to start. Getting your hands moisturized and ready to display your beautiful nails. Then of course shaping and cleaning up your nails themselves. Click HERE for some manicure sets to choose from.

After your clean up make sure you wash your hands to remove the oils from your nails and the little messy bits left behind. You are already almost done. My process from here is to touch up the tips with fixer polish, this helps keep my nails from splitting or peeling because I polish them like twice a week.

Then I polish the entire nail with a vitamin or growth polish, again to protect them from the constant polishing and removal process. From here you are going to want to choose your favorite top coat. I prefer Sally Hansen, she has a few great things to keep your nails healthy and beautiful. Click my Top Choices for some other great options.

Give your fingernails one coat of clear top coat. Let them dry completely. If you like that extra shiny look then you can give them a second coat but, it isn’t necessary to do so. Clean up any spots that hit your fingers with a  cotton swab and nail polish remover. Add a little cuticle oil to your cuticles and gently rub it in to keep them healthy too. You are now finished with gorgeous natural nails.

Feet

Of course you are going to want to do the same for your wonderful toes. Follow the very same process and  your feet will look like you can eat with them when you are done. It is just as important to take care of your feet as it is to take care of your hands. After all they are the ones that take us everywhere we need and want to go.

I hope this made it simple for you. If there is anything you would like to see or if you have any questions please leave a message and I will reply soon. Blessed Be, Kari

I love this! I can relate on this subject. I myself had an ingrown toe nail 3 times. With all this information, i will apply them and invest myself into getting the kit. The reason being is because i need and want to avoid this same procedure in the future, either the same toe nail or a different one. I will be smart and invest these items to avoid it as possible.

Make sure you check with your pediatrist before you do to much. I don’t want you digging like my father used to. Ouch! Safety first. Don’t forget that most often it is related to what you consume… Good food equals good healthy nails. A good manicure at least once a month will help you with the ingrown toenails too. Keep healthy and good luck with those toes. Blessed Be Kari

Thank you Kari for this simple tutorial. You are a genius in nail care and manicure. Your tips are okay but when you said you prefer Sally Hansen’s color collection I quickly checked it out.  I beg to differ with you.  I think I prefer Nailsinc that is what my wife uses. It is indeed chip resistant. Keep it up.

Thank you for your kind words. Every one has a different preference. Your wife might not need what my preference has in it. As long as we get what we each need for beautiful nails. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Blessed Be Kari

I love when my wife grows out her nails. Especially when it comes to bavk rubs!  The problem is this doesn’t happen often due to the fact that she works with her hands and tends to break her nails fairly easily.  The natural look is definately the way to go though. Any advice how to strengthen her nails?  Thanks in advance.

      Hey Jeff

On my Where the nails are page there are some suppliments that are available. Those might help. And a good nail strengthener too. Or she could eat more gelatin, but the suppliments are better though. Heres to beautiful nails. Blessed Be Kari

Thank you for your article on keeping it natural, but for some reason, I’ve just never been able to do that.  My nails are shaped so ridiculously.  They aren’t straight, they have like dents and ridges lol, so I’m always using the glue on nails to look normal.  I have always loved the natural look.  My mom puts a layer of clearcoat and her nails are stunning.  I’m just not lucky in that regard lol.   I’m forced into the land of fake nails forever.

      Hi Babsie

I understand the trouble you have to go through with irregular nails. I have many choices for you on this site. Or you can take the time to shape them. After a few weeks your nails will start to take the shape that you have been putting them in. It also helps when you have some suppliments. What you put in your body you know. LOL Hope I could help. Blessed Be Kari

    Hi Kari,
I love this. It’s so simple but often what we forget to do. I love having natural long nails but they always end up breaking off either when I’m cleaning or playing with my little one. It’s easier to keep them cut low, but I will need to invest in some clear nail polish. When Jayden was born I stopped wearing nail polish and getting my nails done all together, I used to be an avid nail shop goer, lol. Every week. But sometime life gets in the way. This post is short and sweet. Keep posting.
